How to manage memberships
Memberships in CRM Dance
Overview
A Membership works like a subscription, allowing a student to attend lessons without being charged for a specific period. Instead of paying per lesson, the student gets free attendance within the membership's active period.
Memberships are based on Membership Plans, which define the lesson type, pricing, and interval. Once assigned, a membership prevents charges for attended lessons as long as it's active.
Creating a Membership
To create a new membership for a student:

Log in to CRM Dance.

Navigate to the student’s profile.

Open the Accounts tab.

Click New Action → Membership.

Select a Start Date and choose a Membership Plan.

Click Save.
What Happens Next?

When charging a student for attendance, a message will appear alerting you that the membership is active and that the student won’t be charged as usual.
Membership Plans
A Membership Plan stores the details of:
- Lesson Type (e.g., Ballet, Hip-Hop, etc.)
- Price
- Billing Interval (e.g., Weekly, Monthly)
These plans are used when creating new memberships.
Creating a Membership Plan

Log in to CRM Dance.

Navigate to Settings.

Select the Financial & Integration tab.

View the preview of existing Membership Plans. Click Explore All to open the full Membership Plans page.

Click Add New Plan, fill in the form, and save.
Once created, the plan can be selected when assigning a new membership.
Important Notes

Dynamic Plan Selection:
- When creating a new membership, the plan selection is dynamic.
- If a student already has an active membership for a plan, that plan will not appear in the list.

Changing Membership Plans:
- If a membership's plan is changed, the account balance for which the membership applies will be updated accordingly.

Updating Lesson Types:
- If the lesson type in a membership plan is changed, all existing memberships linked to that plan will update their account balances automatically.
By using memberships, CRM Dance allows studios to offer flexible subscription-based attendance while maintaining accurate financial tracking.
